Sigh
So I went to make a blog post as a task for studying for my Google Educator Level 2 exam and found out that I had started one so very long ago to keep track of my girls and their cute sayings. Sadly, I only made two posts then but tonight it was so fun to read these little snippets long forgotten. Things were so busy then with two little ones close together. I can barely remember so many things about that time and was so overwhelmed just with the daily care of life and survival that I surely didn't savor it enough. I wish I could go back, with meds in place to help with the "sads" and just savor even a day or two of them being little. Feeling their little bodies in my arms, hearing their tiny sweet voices and sharing that special feeling of being their whole world. I KNOW little kids and how to be a good mommy to them. I do NOT know teenagers. I don't know how to help them and keep them happy and content. They are my world but I am now just a part of their every-growing circle of independence and influence. It's hard to let go of that bond but I also know that it's an important part of their growing up. Sigh.

"Way Down in Bethlehem"
We are in Bethlehem PA for Christmas with Brian's family and Ellie has been so excited to go to Bethlehem to see baby Jesus. She sang a song this year in her school's Christmas program that had Bethlehem in it a lot of times and she understood it's meaning. Anyway, tonight she came up to me and said, "mommy I figured out why we can't find baby Jesus, he's way down in Bethlehem so we have to look way down." The verses she sang in her song all ended with "way down in Bethlehem." We will have to look for this "way down" this week and find that baby Jesus before we leave or Ellie may never be happy again!

Belaxin and Girl Cheese
I am starting this blog only for myself so that I can try and "remember" the funny and great things my kids tell me.
Tonight the girls and I were eating at Panera and they were having grilled cheese sandwiches. She told me that only girls could eat "girl cheese" sandwiches. :)
We've been talking about her relaxing this week as I've been trying to get her to settle herself and get calm before our bedtime routine. She's been fighting it of course and keeps telling me that she doesn't know how to "belax"!!
Maggie in her sweet little voice has all of the sudden found her "yeah" to answer me instead of her usual "NO!" It's nice to hear this and she can now communicate her true feelings much better now. Now we just need her to stop pooping in the freshly run bathtub!! Ewwwwww.
